I love to create layered gardens with successions of frothy, romantic flowers amidst a structure that holds year round; intermingling perennials, shrubs and trees.

My garden design service involves a detailed site assessment including soil, drainage, exposure, mapping light and shade, existing trees and structures. Then I work with you to understand your vision, style and how you want to use your garden. I then come back with a concept plan, and once this is to your approval a detailed (scale) garden design plan is drawn up, specifying all plants and hard landscaping.

The plants are chosen based on not only their shape, structures and function within the garden, their foliage, colours, flowering times, and suitability for the climate and soil, but also for the way they interact with one another to form a plant community. This holistic ecological approach ensures plant health and reduces garden maintenance.

I bring an artist’s eye for design, colour and proportion, and a plantswoman’s horticultural expertise.

I take into account the way the garden relates to the exterior and interior of the house, so that the garden enhances the architecture and views from important vantage points. A garden is structured with a foundation of hedges, fences, paths and terraces etc. this delineates the space and then the atmosphere and mood is created by the plants chosen and how they relate to one another.

Whether you are dreaming of cabbage roses, a potager or herb garden, or a wildlife and pollinator oasis, a country orchard or all of the above and anything in between, I can’t wait to meet you and make a bespoke garden for your home.

Full Garden Design Package

Includes: design consultation, concept plan, measuring up and site assessment. To scale garden design plans including detailed planting plans with foundational plants, perennials and bulbs and annuals (as applicable).

Plant establishment and maintenance advice.

Does not include site preparation, landscaping, actual plant acquisition or delivery, or planting - these are all billed separately.

Whether you would like expert advise on your garden - including identification, pruning, especially pruning and training of roses (my specialty) plant health and organic pest and disease management, or you would like me to take care of your garden for you on a regular basis, I service the upper Blue Mountains, including Wentworth Falls, Leura, Katoomba, Medlow Bath, Blackheath, Mount Victoria, Megalong Valley, Little Hartley, Hartley, Lithgow and Mount Wilson.
